This was an invaluable experience for me. I loved going thru the old village featured in outlander but the older buildings in the main area as well. Ice cream was great, the people working there were so kind and helpful.
This really reminded me a lot of its American cousin in Pinellas County Heritage village FL. Both have so many interesting buildings to discover !!

Pretty boring. Often no descriptions of houses, from which year/decade.

We had a lovely visit. Lots to see and find out. There's quite a lot of walking involved to get around the site. Would recommend spending 3 to 4 hours there. The shop was a bonus as you could buy old-fashioned sweets there. Cafe food seemed a bit expensive given the small portions. Toilets were clean and tidy

Lovely museum with loveliest staffs. The old township was fascinating and the 3 different colours highland coos are the cutest. There is also no entrance fee. Highly recommended!

In my opinion the exhibits are spaced out too far apart.
Elderly folk will have trouble with the distances.

Honestly one of the highlights of my visit to Scotland. Free entrance, friendly staff, clean toilets and beautiful, highly detailed restored buildings that showcase the daily lives of people in the Highlands.

Not so much to see as an outdoor Folk museum... Major highlights are the animals...
