The Pinacoteca Stuard in Parma is a significant art museum, which was opened in 2002 in a wing of the ancient Benedictine monastery of San Paolo. This monastery was built from the 10th century onwards and now houses the art gallery, which presents an extensive collection of paintings and artworks from various periods.

The collection of the Pinacoteca Stuard includes over 300 paintings ranging from the 14th to the 18th century. Outstanding works include paintings by artists such as Bernardo Daddi, Paolo di Giovanni Fei, Niccolò di Tommaso, and schools of Pietro di Giovanni di Ambrogio, Paolo Uccello, Filippino Lippi and Parmigianino. Later works are by Sebastiano Ricci, Bartolomeo Schedoni, Guercino, Guido Reni, Giovanni Lanfranco, Bernardo Bellotto, Lodewijk Toeput, Anthony Mor, Felice Boselli, and Giovanni Gaibazzi.

A special highlight of the collection is the painting "Christ and the Canaanite Woman" by Agostino Carracci, which was added to the collection in 2016.

Architecture and Surroundings

The museum is located in the former Benedictine monastery of San Paolo, built in the 10th century. A remarkable room within the monastery is the "Camera di San Paolo", decorated with frescoes by Correggio in 1519. These frescoes are a masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance and are one of the main attractions of the museum.
