Gallerie Ex Ferrovia

The "Gallerie Ex Ferrovia" in Ovaro, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, are remnants of the former railway line Villa Santina–Comeglians, which was in operation from 1920 to 1935. This route, also known as "Ferrovia del Degano," extended over 13.893 kilometers and connected the Val Degano with the endpoint of the normal gauge of Carnia.

The railway line was originally built for military purposes during the First World War and later converted for civilian use. After the closure of the line in 1935, many of the tunnels and bridges were no longer used and fell into oblivion.
