The "Lavatoio di Cheglio" in Taino, Lombardy, is a historic washhouse that once played a central role in the daily life of the local community. Located in the picturesque district of Cheglio, it is the last surviving washhouse of its kind in the region.

posto storico con anche qualcosa di nascosto Geocaching...

Richiesto da anni dalla popolazione, fu costruito nel 1936. Ormai testimonianza della vista sociale dell'epoca, era punto di ritrovo e di fatiche delle donne del paese. Oggi è un luogo fresco dove ripararsi dalla calura estiva. Volendo è tuttora funzionante. Acqua non potabile.

Visto che è stato costruito nel 1936,è conservato molto bene e ci fa immaginare il grande lavoro di quelle povere donne di quell'epoca, ma le voglio anche immaginare tutte insieme a parlare o a cantare, dimenticando per un po' le difficoltà della vita.

Angolo molto carino e suggestivo di Cheglio frazione del comune di Taino, ricco di storia e ricordi dove in tempi lontani le donne si apprestavano a fare il bucato per la loro famiglia ma anche per famiglie di ricchi signori, che abitavano in questo piccolo paese ma anche nei paesi vicini.
