Museo Etnografico Casa Bruseschi
Museum | Pesariis | Friuli-Venezia Giulia | Italy
The "Museo Etnografico Casa Bruseschi" in Pesariis, a hamlet of Prato Carnico in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, is a significant ethnographic museum that provides insight into the life of a wealthy Carnian family in the 17th and 18th centuries. The building, a three-story townhouse, was bequeathed to the parish of Pesariis in 1963 by Dorina Bruseschi, the last owner of the family, and made accessible to the public.
On the ground floor, visitors can find the kitchen, the center of family life, equipped with a traditional "fogolâr" and a "secchiaio". Here, visitors can admire the typical cooking utensils and furniture that shaped the family's everyday life.
The first floor showcases a dining room with fine ceramics from Pordenone and a notary office displaying open books and registers. The second floor houses bedrooms, a bathroom with intricately embroidered curtains, and another bedroom whose walls are adorned with prints depicting the life of Saint Benedict.
A visit to the museum allows visitors to immerse themselves in the history and culture of the region and gain an authentic glimpse into the life of a wealthy Carnian family in the 17th and 18th centuries.
